Tara Advertiser Terms

These terms apply to every brand ("advertiser") that creates a campaign on Tara. Plain language on purpose — if anything is unclear, ask us before you fund a campaign.

Last updated: 13 October 2026. These terms are between you and Tara Media (Pty) Ltd, Windhoek, Namibia ("Tara", "we", "us").

1. What Tara does

Tara connects Namibian brands with Namibian creators. You fund a campaign, approved creators post on the platforms you choose, and Tara verifies delivery — views, tracked link taps and screenshots — before creators are paid. Tara is not the advertiser's agent and is not the creator's employer; we run the marketplace, the rules and the money flow.

2. Eligibility and your authority

By creating an advertiser account you confirm that:

  • Your business is registered and operating in Namibia (a BIPA-registered name, where you have one, is verified by our team).
  • You are authorised to act for the business, and the billing email you give us is monitored by someone who can approve spend.
  • All information you submit is accurate and kept up to date.

3. Prepaid campaign budget

  • Every campaign runs on a prepaid campaign budget. You pay the full budget by EFT with a unique reference before the campaign goes live. A campaign is scheduled to launch only when funds reflect (1–2 business days).
  • The budget is held by Tara for the purpose of paying creators and Tara's fee. It is not a bank deposit and earns no interest.
  • The budget is only drawn down as creators' posts are verified and settled. Tara never pays a creator more than the verified work allows under the campaign rules.
  • A per-creator payout cap is set when you build the campaign. No single creator can earn more than their cap from that campaign, no matter how many views their posts record.

4. Tara's fee

Tara charges a platform fee on verified creator earnings. The current fee is shown every time you build a campaign, before you confirm the budget — it is never applied silently or changed mid-campaign. Where indicated, VAT is additional and shown separately on your tax invoice.

5. Refunds of unspent budget

When a campaign closes, any budget not owed to creators (plus the fee on it) belongs to you. You can request closure at any time after launch, and Tara will refund unspent funds by EFT to the bank account the campaign was funded from, after the closing reconciliation is complete. Refunds are processed within a reasonable period after campaign close; we will tell you if anything delays yours.

6. How delivery is verified

  • Creators submit their post link and a screenshot of the platform's own analytics. Tara's staff compare the submission against the live post.
  • WhatsApp Status campaigns are measured by tracked link taps — not view counts. Each tap is deduplicated per device for 24 hours and screened against bot and rate-limit filters.
  • Where a campaign requires audience proof, creators must show that the required share of their audience is in Namibia before their submission is approved.
  • Tara may re-check any post, discount or reject fraudulent, deleted, or non-disclosed submissions, and withhold the payout attached to them.

7. Campaign rules and brand approvals

  • Your brief sets the platforms, the script requirements, the #ad or #sponsored disclosure, retention rules (for example, videos stay live for a set number of days, WhatsApp statuses stay up for 24 hours) and any audience requirements.
  • If a campaign requires draft approval, the creator must submit an unpublished draft or script and may only post after you (or Tara staff, where we act for you) approve it. You may request changes once per draft; approval must not be unreasonably withheld.
  • A post that breaks the brief — missing disclosure, deleted early, wrong platform, off-script — can be rejected. Rejected posts do not earn, and the budget attached to them stays yours until settled or refunded.

8. Content ownership and usage rights

The creator owns their content. Your campaign's usage-rights setting grants you a limited licence:

  • Organic — 30 days: you may reshare the post on your own channels organically for 30 days from publication.
  • Organic + paid — 30 days: you may also run the content as a paid ad from your own brand accounts for 30 days.
  • No usage rights: the post lives only on the creator's channel.

Anything beyond the campaign's licence — for example, whitelisting, broadcast use, or use beyond 30 days — needs a separate written agreement with the creator.

9. Disclosure and compliance

Each party is responsible for its own legal duties. Creators must carry the disclosure your brief requires; you are responsible for the claims made in the brief and the product or service behind it. Tara reviews submissions for disclosure and may reject posts that omit it, but Tara is not the advertiser of record for your products.

10. Creator payments

Tara pays creators from the prepaid campaign budget after verification and settlement. Payment dates, minimum payout amounts and creator terms are set out in the creator terms; they are Tara's obligation, not yours, and you are never asked to pay a creator directly.

11. Tax invoices

Tara Media (Pty) Ltd issues a tax invoice for every campaign you fund. A final tax invoice showing the platform fee and any VAT is emailed to your billing email at campaign close. Your VAT registration number, where you have one, appears on your invoices — keep it current in your billing settings.

12. Suspension and termination

  • Tara may pause or close a campaign, or suspend an advertiser account, if we reasonably believe a campaign breaks these terms, Namibian law, platform rules, or our fraud and brand-safety rules. We will tell you why.
  • You may stop running new campaigns at any time. Campaigns already live run to their end date unless both sides agree to close them early; unspent budget on early-closed campaigns is refunded as in section 5.
  • Where Tara suspends a campaign for the advertiser's breach, Tara may deduct costs already committed from the refund.

13. Fraud and misuse

Attempts to game delivery — buying views, tap farms, self-clicking tracked links, pressure on creators to fake analytics — are grounds to close a campaign and an account, and to withhold the payouts attached to the affected posts. Verified, honest delivery is paid in full.

14. Limitation

Tara's role is the marketplace, the verification and the money flow. Tara is not liable for a creator's conduct beyond the remedies in these terms, for indirect or consequential loss, or for amounts exceeding the platform fees you paid in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

15. Disputes and governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Namibia. Bring any dispute to us first at the address on our contact page — we commit to engaging in good faith before either side escalates. The courts of Namibia have jurisdiction.

16. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as the platform grows. Material changes are announced in the app and by email to billing contacts before they take effect, and running campaigns finish under the terms they started with.
